A 400-pound running back? At first it sounds like a joke, but in White Swan, Washington, on the Yakima Indian Reservation, it’s the truth. Tony Picard, who stands 6’4” and tips the scales at 400 pounds, has already rushed for more than 700 yards along with 15 touchdowns this season. Picard, or Big Tone, as he’s known to his teammates, also plays nose guard for the tiny school located in central Washington’s Cascade Mountains.
This headache for opposing defenses is the biggest running back in the nation, at any level of the sport, and brings to mind a younger, more athletic version of onetime NFL star Chicago Bear William “Refrigerator” Perry, who was famous for his goal line lumbers. Big Tone is open to playing college ball as well, as his White Swan Cougars make a run towards a state title this month. Check out the Northwest Prep Report for some amazing videos of Tony in action.
